We have had a generic supervisory/leadership course specially adapted and developed to suit the civil engineering industry. We will be running the first of these courses as a pilot and because we received funding from CITB as part of our group funding application, there will be no charge to members but we will require each delegate to feedback on the course content etc. and will require some feedback from their line management on impact.
This is a 4 day programme which will be split into two sessions.
Course content has been developed by Frank Connolly of Connolly Training Solutions who delivers a variety of civil specific and utilities training. The content contains (but is not limited to) the following:
Day 1 Induction / Leading Your Work Team / Team Dynamics
Day 2 Motivation & Communication Skills
Day 3 Supervision of work / Delegation / Time Management
Day 4 Problem Solving / Decision Making / Influencing & Briefing Skills
The course will be ILM endorsed and all group exercises are provided in a civil engineering context/ methodology. There will be an option for delegates to attain the SVQ L3 in Occupational Supervision with some additional work.
