Employer Network-Grant Back

Book a Course

The employer network pilot is designed to make it really easy for you and your staff to do training – without the need to make any short duration grant claims to CITB

We understand that training is another thing on your long list of admin, so this pilot is our approach to tackling the skills shortage in your area and making finding and accessing training as easy as possible for you.   This pilot is aimed at all civil engineering companies throughout Scotland plus any CITB registered companies in the Highlands & Islands area:

As CITB’s CEO Tim Balcon puts it:

“This pilot is about putting employers in the driving seat to identify and address their local skills challenges and how best CITB can align funding and resources to support their skills needs”.

Put simply, if you are a company registered with CITB,  you tell us what your training priorities are, we find suitable training and help fund it. You just need to turn up, learn and reap the benefits.

You might want construction skills; business skills; digital skills; health and safety qualifications; or future skills (such as net-zero). Whatever your priorities, the employer network is designed to help – you determine the skills priorities.   It will also benefit your sub contractors / supply chain companies who are CITB registered and may not bother claiming grant.

Who is running the employer network in Scotland?

This pilot is a GRANT BACK scheme.  Essentially we have been given funds to use to give to CITB registered companies on successful completion of training – instead of claiming short duration grant.

The employer network is independently led by Scottish Civils Training Group (SCTG), and funded by CITB.    SCTG already offer discounted training through our network of training providers and this project will provide GRANT BACK directly to CITB registered companies after attendance and payment.  For civil engineering/ groundworks/plant companies who are CITB registered and based anywhere in Scotland,  we will pay you 75% of the cost of the training, in lieu of a CITB short duration grant.  For construction companies based in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland, you do not need to be civil engineering only.  This will apply until the end of the project pilot in July 2023 or whilst funds are still available.

You will not need to claim CITB short duration grant for any courses carried out under this pilot scheme.

How do I get involved?

Contact us using the form below or email  info@scottishcivilstraining.co.uk   or call either Teri or Jenny on 07903 409055/6

We hope you will find this a much easier way to get training for you and your team. If the pilot is a success it will help shape how CITB funding can help with the real skill shortages you and others in the industry face.
